Chairs Academy: Skills for Administrative Leadership

Department chairs and school directors have decision-making responsibilities that influence large numbers of students, faculty and staff. Nationally, most administrators rising from the faculty report having had no prior training in leadership, management or finance. At WVU we are working to help better prepare our academic administrators as they transition to their new leadership role. 

The WVU Chairs Academy offers three levels of administrative leadership skills training those serving in department chair or school director roles. 

Chairs Academy - Level 1
Chairs Academy - Level 2
Chairs Academy - Level 3
Chairs Academy Completion

Participation is by invitation only.
